BCCL is engaged in mining, beneficiation (washing), and supply of coking coal, non-coking coal and washed coal, catering mainly to the steel and power sectors. It operates in the Jharia (Jharkhand) and Raniganj (West Bengal) coalfields and holds some of the largest prime coking coal reserves in the country.
