GTL was incorporated in June 2020 to take over the erstwhile textile division (i.e., home textile and yarn division) of GHCL.
However, GHCL divested its home textile in April 2022 by slump sale to Indo Count Industries. Subsequently, GHCL announced a scheme of de-merger of its yarn division into GTL. The scheme became effective w.e.f. April 01, 2023. GTL would be separately listed company on the
stock exchange under the automatic route. Shareholders of GHCL on April 08, 2023, shall become shareholders of GTL.
