Bank. It stopped fresh lending in 2000; after
RBI cancelled its housing-finance Certificate
of Registration effective 21.09.2023, it ceased HFC /NBFC business and is now limited to recovering /disposal of legacy mortgaged
assets and resolving related litigation.[1]

IBHL historically offered individual housing
loans, project loans to corporate bodies and non-housing ICDs, but has made no fresh loans since 2000. RBI cancelled CoR No. 01.0023.01 because the company had ceased housing-finance business, did not maintain minimum
net owned funds and failed to comply with RBI/NHB directions. Cancellation still permits borrower recoveries and settlement of outstanding claims.[2]
