ETP Corporation has been manufacturing and trading in tea and other agricultural products since 1985, under the chairmanship of G N Gupta. Sanjeev Agarwal is the managing director. The company has tea gardens and tea processing houses at Kotagiri, in the Nilgiris, South India. It processes tea from captive gardens of 300 acres and also from other adjoining tea gardens. The process house has a capacity of processing two mln kg of tea pa. The tea produced in these gardens has been widely accepted in the domestic and export markets. Macmillan Tea Exports, a Sterling Tea Export House, was merged with the company to upgrade the company's performance in the export market. The company has varied interests and diversification plans in fields like horticulture, wind energy, production of industrial alcohol, etc. Through Esquire Plantations, a group company, it has achieved plantation of multifarious fruits and vegetables, on a vast expanse of 3500 acres, acquired on long-term lease, located near Pauri in the Garhwal-Kumaon range of the Himalayas in Uttar Pradesh. It had also acquired 250 acres at Hathbandh near Raipur, MP, and commenced plantation activities. Under the banner of Esquire Energy, a 100-MW wind power generation plant is coming up at Chikmagalur, Karnataka, at an estimated project cost of $ 100 mln. Through the promoter company, Poshan Organics, the Esquire group is setting up a plant to manufacture 18,000 klpa of industrial alcohol from molasses at Rajgir, Nalanda. In future, it plans to set up facilities to recover carbon-dioxide of high purity, which to-date has been a waste by-product of fermentation
